One of the co-creators of the Dead Space series, Glen Schofield, is working on a spiritual successor to the games called The Callisto Protocol with his studio Striking Distance. The main games were set in the 26th century and starred Isaac Clarke, who battled undead beings known as Necromorphs, which, unlike traditional zombielike enemies, generally had to be dispatched by slicing off their limbs. The Dead Space series consisted of three main games, launched between 20, and a pair of spinoffs: puzzle-action game Dead Space Ignition, and rail shooter Dead Space Extraction. Still, based on how little we’ve seen so far and how exciting the prospect of a new Dead Space is, it’s probably worth tuning in for, even if we only get some concept art or high-level discussion about Motive’s design intentions for the remake.ĮA and Motive announced their Dead Space remake in July, promising a built-from-the-ground-up game that’s faithful to the 2008 original while featuring all-new assets, new character models, and new environments.
